Mid-Atlantic Algebra, Geometry, and Combinatorics WorkshopWelcome to MAAGC. The next annual workshop will take place March 13--15, 2020 at the University of Virginia. More information can be found on the workshop page. The MAAGC Workshop is an outgrowth of the Philadelphia Combinatorics & Algebraic Geometry (CAGE) seminar, a weekly seminar that began in 2008, co-organized by Drexel University, Haverford College, Swarthmore College, and the University of Pennsylvania. MAAGC aims to bring together senior researchers and junior mathematicians from the region to exchange ideas and forge collaborations in algebraic geometry and algebraic combinatorics. The 2.5 day-long workshop will consist of four invited talks, a poster session for junior participants (undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdocs), all while allowing for plenty of time for informal discussions. In addition, there will be a panel discussion, which will feature concrete, candid advice for mathematicians at varying stages in the profession (e.g. finding jobs, getting grants, starting collaborations). |
