Mid-Atlantic Algebra, Geometry, and Combinatorics Workshop

Welcome to MAAGC.

The fourth annual workshop will take place May 5-6, 2017 at Drexel University. More information can be found on the workshop page.

The MAAGC Workshop is an outgrowth of the Philadelphia Combinatorics & Algebraic Geometry (CAGE) seminar, a weekly seminar that began in 2008, co-organized by Drexel University, Haverford College, Swarthmore College, and the University of Pennsylvania. MAAGC aims to bring together senior researchers and junior mathematicians from the region to exchange ideas and forge collaborations in algebraic geometry and algebraic combinatorics.

The day-long workshop will consist of three invited talks, a poster session for junior participants (undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdocs), all while allowing for plenty of time for informal discussions.  In addition, there will be a panel discussion, which will feature concrete, candid advice for mathematicians at varying stages in the profession (e.g. finding jobs, getting grants, starting collaborations).

Scientific Committee: Jonah Blasiak (Drexel), Linda Chen (Swarthmore), Jim Haglund (UPenn), Elizabeth Milicevic (Haverford), Jennifer Morse (Drexel), Greta Panova (U Penn).
